such as King Tut's (where Oasis were spotted) and the Barrowlands (known locally as “the Barras”). Recently a number
of additional venues have graced the city, including the ABC on Sauchiehall Street and the Carling Academy, just
south of the river.
Concert Halls
Glasgow also boasts a number of concert halls featuring superb acoustics and a diverse range of performances.
The most popular venues for classical music are the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the Glasgow City Hall, (home of the
Scottish Symphony Orchestra) and the Old Fruitmarket. There are also frequent concerts at the SECC and neighbouring
Clyde Auditorium (known in Glasgow as 'the Armadillo', the RSAMD and many more.
Music Festivals
Glasgow plays host to some large-scale music festivals throughout the year, including Celtic Connections, Big Big
Country, the Glasgow International Jazz Festival, and World Pipe Band Champtionships. These music festivals attract
